Our Story

Hi, my name is Sherice Marks, I am the founder and owner of PareUp. Over my 25-year teaching career, I have had the privilege of working in diverse educational settings across South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia. I have held a range of leadership positions in mainstream schools that catered to students with additional needs.

Through these roles, I have extensive experience of advocating for and accommodating the varied needs of children, particularly neurodiverse students. As a lead teacher, I have coached my colleagues and led the development of curricula catering for the full range of needs within inclusive schools, ensuring all students in the school community learn in a stimulating environment.

As the parent of a neurodiverse child with complex learning needs, my understanding of neurodiversity has expanded to include the supports needed at home for both children and parents.

My desire to help both my own child and my students has driven me to research the brain and how we learn. Focusing on a diverse range of approaches to organisation, information gathering, learning and study skills, communications, and emotional regulation.

Determined to help children learn better and have a more positive educational experience, I left the classroom and started PareUp!
